Ethnic Group In Sabah


Sabah below the wind has it own unique . it has 30 ethnic. A country rich in group of ethnic. The population of ethnic consists of Bajau, Bruneian Malay , Murut , Kedayan, Tidong , Bugis , Suluk , Cocos , Bisaya , Iranun , Rungus and others . Other than that , it also have their own dialect that called Bahasa Baku . Different with dialect of west Malaysia. Sabah also has it own slang. mostly from Asi language or Indonesia .
KADAZAN DUSUN


Kadazan Dusun was the name of the largest native indigenous people in Sabah and is derived from the Indo-China. These ethnic groups using a variety of languages ​​and dialects with various cultural and traditional customs. There are 27 tribes in it. Among them is the Liwan Dusun, Dusun Tindal, Dusun Pahu, Dusun Lotud, Bagahak, Dusun Labuk, Dusun Kimaragang, Tagahas, Tangara, Dusun, Rungus, Orang Sungai, Kuijau, Tambanuo, and so on.

KadazanDusun Sabah make up 30 percent of the population consisting of two tribes, the Kadazan and Dusun grouped together as shared language and culture. However, different ethnic Kadazan live in the valley and traditionally engaged in paddy cultivation, while the Dusun live in the mountainous interior of Sabah.


BAJAU


The second largest ethnic group in Sabah, the Bajau include 15 percent of the state population. They originally were the descendants of seamen at sea Piston worship (God of the Sea) and is often known as sea gypsies. Some have left their sea by farmers and breeders. They are known as the 'Cowboys of the East' because of their expertise on horseback. There are many different tribes among the Bajau as Ilanun, Sulu and others. Most inhabit the Bajau Semporna and Kota Belud. The men in this society is well known as a skilled horseman.



MURUT
Murut people is the third largest ethnic group in Sabah, the Murut include three percent of the state population. Traditionally, they occupy the northern inland regions of Borneo. They also are the last of Sabah's ethnic groups to renounce headhunting. Now, they are growers of upland rice and cassava, while using a blowpipe hunting and fishing.


IRANUN

Iranun or Illanuns is the name of a tribe of indigenous people of Sabah are classified as. Iranun means courtship. This mewujudnya system for a very close social ties, which are bound by a relationship so intimate, that system is based on cooperation and mutual assistance.

They are efficient browser, shelter Iranun community is largely concentrated in coastal areas. But there are also located on the inside of the district. Iranun community is heavily settled in the village of Kota Belud as Gold Coast, Kaguraan, Peladok City, Tamau, swamps and Payas, Marampayan, Bongan City, and others.
